Salem, the Traverse City/Chicago-based trio of John Holland, Heather Marlatt, & Jack Donoghue, have only released a series of limited-edition 7-inch vinyl EPs & singles over the past 2 years, but with those, they’ve created their own genre, drag. With comparisons ranging from Cocteau Twins to My Bloody Valentine, the kind of music they’re making has spawned its own scene of similar artists, although none as innovative & acclaimed as Salem. Now, the band have signed a worldwide deal with IAMSOUND & will be releasing their highly-anticipated debut album King Night on September 28th. Mixed by Dave Sardy, the album features new versions of 3 previously-released tracks as well as 8 completely new ones. Grab the first track off the album right here:
